Range Rover Velar Meridian Surround and front seat massage retrofit

In this article, we are going to tell you about retrofitting the Land Rover Range Rover Velar 2022MY with a higher-level music system Meridian Surround 750W, front seat massage retrofit, and also activating additional features such as: activating adaptive cruise control, automatic mode of the Terrain Response 2 system, off-road cruise control ATPC, WiFi hotspot, Configurable dynamic mode, second-generation of auto-parking feature.
Since 2021, the RR Velar has received quite a few changes in interior electronics, although its exterior has not changed. It is already built on the new EVA 2.0 electronic platform and is equipped with the PiVi Pro infotainment system.
A new customer contacted us with a request to retrofit his RR Velar, sent the VIN number of the vehicle and received an offer from us with possible retrofitting, activation of features and prices.

The customer chose the retrofits he was interested in, then we proceeded to the order and prepared all the necessary parts for retrofitting. Let’s go through each feature that has been implemented in order.

1.Retrofitting Meridian Surround Sound System 750WA base Meridian 400W system was installed on the vehicle from the factory. Meridian surround sound system with 750W amplifier has 17 speakers, including a two-channel subwoofer, which are seamlessly combined using Trifield™ technology. Exclusive to Meridian, Trifield perfectly blends center and surround channels with left and right channels, delivering optimal, consistent sound for every passenger.
Retrofitting by the Meridian surround 750W system involves installing additional speakers in the ceiling of the front of the vehicle, while maintaining the full functionality of the vehicle noise reduction system microphones, installing additional speakers in the luggage compartment, replacing the amplifier, wiring and programming this system to the car for full operation, display menu and control panel.

Now the client will be able to enjoy excellent three-dimensional sound, which he so lacked after buying a vehicle.

2. Front seats massage retrofit

To install front seat massage, it is necessary to integrate special massage mechanisms directly into the seat back, conduct wiring and connect all this to the vehicle’s electronics. It is important to notice that when installing the front seat massage, the seat upholstery (leather) is not removed from the foam rubber. From the factory, the seat massage is installed only in the back of the seats. Massage of the lower part of the seat is not yet provided by Land Rover / Jaguar, as is the case with 95% of vehicle manufacturers. Because the main task of seat massage is to improve blood circulation and relieve swelling of the back. It is also very nice for relaxing in traffic or when you are relaxing while admiring the beautiful scenery.
Various  types for adjusting the massage are available: Waves, Up, Down, separately for the Upper Back and Lower Back. You can also choose from five levels of massage intensity.

According to feedback from our customers, they did not expect such a result until they tried this feature in everyday life.
Now let’s go through the activated features for RR Velar:

1.Adaptive cruise control activation
Vehicles built on the new EVA 2.0 electronic architecture and the PiVi Pro infotainment system have all adaptive cruise control hardware already pre-installed from the factory and only modifications to the vehicle software are required to activate the adaptive cruise control feature. Nothing needs to be disassembled and nothing needs to be installed additionally.
When activated, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go automatically maintains the vehicle at a safe distance from the vehicle in front if it slows down or stops while driving on the motorway or in traffic, your vehicle follows it.
The system includes:
– Adaptive cruise control follow mode
– Assistant function when driving in traffic jams and traffic – Stop & Go (Queue Assist)
– Forward warning and emergency braking system at high speeds
After activating the feature adaptive cruise-control, you get additional distance control buttons on the right steering wheel switch and an additional menu on the multimedia system.

The presence of adaptive cruise control makes long trips more comfortable.

2.Activating Terrain Response 2 AUTO and Off-Road Cruise ATPC
Terrain Response 2 AUTO monitors driving conditions every second and automatically selects driving modes to achieve the best possible transmission, suspension, engine and traction settings for maximum control on all road surfaces.
With Terrain Response 2 ‘AUTO’ mode, you access many of Land Rover’s engineering technologies at the touch of a button on the lower touch screen.
All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) is a low-speed cruise control feature for all road conditions, operating at speeds from 1 to 18 mph. This is a self-contained system that does not require the driver to press the gas and brake pedals and is effective on all types of surfaces, including wet grass, snow, ice and dirt roads.

3.Configurable Dynamic mode and Park Assist GEN2
The customer already had the Dynamic mode installed and we suggested that he additionally activate the ability to configure the dynamic mode for his preferences.
Dynamic-I or Configurable dynamic mode allows you to customize the dynamic mode according to your preferences and driving style. You can independently adjust the dynamic or comfort mode for throttle, steering, transmission and suspension. In addition, you will have a lap timer menu, G-force menu, etc.
The new electronic communication architecture also enabled Land Rover to develop a second-generation of auto parking system. From the factory, this function is offered to customers as an option when ordering a car, but do not be upset if you purchased a car without this option. It can be activated after buying a vehicle.
Unlike the first generation, the second generation parking assistant independently controls the pressing of the gas and brake pedals, and also independently selects the necessary gear.
Park Assist GEN2 makes parking easier than ever before by automatically detecting free parking spaces and prompting you to park instead.
Just select a free parking space, press a button on the touchscreen, release the brakes and the steering wheel, and the car will automatically complete a full parking maneuver while you simply lean back and observe your surroundings.
To activate this option, the car must be equipped with 360 parking systems and a 3D surround view camera system.

4.WiFi Hotspot Activation
Vehicles equipped with the Telematics system have a built-in internal eSIM electronic SIM card, which is used to update some vehicle software over the air. This sim card can also be unlocked to use it as a hotspot and get free WiFi in the car. In this case, the system uses an external antenna for the best connection.
Depending of the local market, you will receive 20 GB of data every month for 1-3 years. After using 20 GB of data for a month, the data transfer rate in the car may slow down until the end of the month.
Mobile communications cannot be guaranteed in all locations. All vehicle features should only be used by drivers when it is safe for them to do so.
