Range Rover Evoque Keyless Entry retrofit

Every year, vehicles are equipped with more and more electronic features. One popular comfort feature is keyless entry. The presence of this feature makes opening and closing the vehicle simpler and easier. You don’t have to take the key out of your pocket or bag, trying to remember where you put it. It is enough to walk up to the vehicle and pull the door handle. The keyless entry system, using aerial located in the vehicle, will automatically recognize the key and allow you to open the vehicle door. Closing the vehicle also occurs without any effort, just touch the sensor located on the door handle and the vehicle will close and the security system will on.
Today, not all Land Rover/Jaguar vehicles are equipped with this feature from the factory. Therefore, there is a demand for the Keyless Entry retrofit after the purchase of a Land Rover. In our case, there is a 2019 Range Rover Evoque. Our customer is the second owner of the vehicle and he wanted to modify the vehicle with the necessary features to suit his needs and habits.

After receiving the order, we begin each retrofit with the preparation and selection of the necessary parts. The correct selection of parts is one of the most important stages of any retrofitting.

We begin the installation process directly with the disassembly  of the interior and the preparation of the vehicle for the retrofitting. We disassemble the door cards, the trunk, remove the rear bumper and remove the interior trim elements in order to correctly lay all the wiring.

The installation process is quite painstaking. We install new door handles with sensors and aerials, change door locks, change door wiring, add the additional aerials on the vehicle body, install a new keyless module, connect all components to a new keyless entry module and reconnect the tailgate lock. All retrofits that we carry out, we always produce from genuine parts and make wiring according to the original factory diagrams. This ensures that many years later you will always be able to service the system at any Land Rover/Jaguar workshop.

An interesting fact: in some Land Rover models, more than 250 m of wire is consumed when retrofitting a vehicle with a keyless entry system. But in recent years, the manufacturer has optimized the system, by significantly reducing the wire consumption and accordingly the weight of the entire system, which is also important today.
After installing the keyless entry system on the Range Rover Evoque, opening and closing the vehicle has become as simple and comfortable as possible.
