Land Rover New Defender soft door close retrofit

The new Land Rover Defender generation has been produced since 2020. The vehicle has an outstanding exterior and non-standard interior design. Admirers of the brand immediately liked this model. The new Defender has a high cost and is equipped with fairly premium features (head-up display, seat ventilation, matrix headlights, 3D surround cameras, etc.), but the vehicle was not equipped with such useful comfort features as soft door close even in the maximum version with 5.0 compressor engine. We can only speculate about the reasons for such restrictions. But in our opinion, this is done in terms of marketing and positioning the Defender in the Land Rover model line.
It is important to note that we use genuine Land Rover parts to install soft close doors system. We take them from other Land Rover/Jaguar models where the soft close doors are supplied from the factory. The installation of original parts not only contributes to the long life of the system, but also to the ease of its service after many years at any of the Land Rover services.
The front doors of the LR Defender are quite bulky, and the rear doors do not always close the first time, especially if our passengers are children. Therefore, soft close doors system are very helpful in this situation.
Using the example of a vehicle of one of our clients, we will talk about the process of installing soft door close on the Land Rover Defender 2021.

Before retrofitting, we prepared all the necessary parts. The installation process begins with the removal of door cards, followed by the replacement of door locks and the installation of soft close doors actuators. We install the soft close doors actuators on special brackets, developed by us using 3D modeling. Next, we install all the necessary wiring and connect it to the door modules. After software works, the system is fully function.
