Factory Power Upgrade for 2.0 Ingenium Diesel Engine from D165 to D200.

We have already talked about factory power upgrades on multiple occasions, and you can find more details in this article https://www.lr-chip.co.uk/. Therefore, we will not focus on that aspect in this article.

The D165 and D200 modifications were introduced to our market from the 2021 model year with the release of the updated Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque. These vehicles received a new architecture for connecting electronic components and the new PiVi Pro infotainment system. Let’s consider the characteristics of these power versions, as stated by the manufacturer:

D165 – 163ps/380Nm
0 to 100 km/h – 10.2s

D200 – 204ps/430Nm
0 to 100 km/h – 8.6s

Before starting the work, we thoroughly compared all the technical units and engine components of the two D165 and D200 modifications, confirmed their identical nature, and proceeded with the software work. The D165 version, with measurements taken from idle and with two people in the cabin, showed a 0-100 km/h time of 11.2 seconds. After the factory power upgrade to the D200 version and under the same measurement conditions, we achieved a result of 9.4 seconds. The difference between the D165 and D200 versions in the 0-100 km/h discipline was 1.8 seconds. This is a very good result, considering it’s only a software factory power upgrade.

Additionally, several extra features were activated on this vehicle:

Configurable Dynamic Mode (Dynamic-I) allows the driver to individually adjust the dynamic mode according to their preferences (steering, throttle response, transmission, suspension).

WiFi Hotspot enables connection to the vehicle’s WiFi network and provides free internet access inside the vehicle. The vehicle comes equipped with a multifunctional telematics module from the factory, which has an integrated electronic SIM card (eSIM). This eSIM is connected to a local network operator and is primarily used for updating the infotainment system software. We offer activation of an additional menu in the infotainment system, providing access to the internet from this SIM card for distribution inside the vehicle (WiFi Hotspot). It is important to note that this SIM card also works in roaming. According to the vehicle manufacturer’s statement, the SIM card is connected to a 20GB monthly package. If the monthly traffic is used up quickly, the internet speed will significantly decrease until the following month.

Additionally, the Start/Stop system operation was reprogrammed. Now, the Start/Stop system has a memory function for the driver’s last chosen position. For example, if you turn off the system, it will remain off for all subsequent trips until you turn it on again by pressing the button.
