Ambient lighting retrofit Range Rover Sport
Ambient lighting of vehicle interiors is becoming more and more popular. This is a kind of trend among vehicle manufacturers. But every manufacturer sees the lighting in his own way, like a designer. Someone adds a lot of contour stripes throughout the interior of the vehicle, creating a spaceship, someone selectively slightly highlights areas to create coziness and the necessary atmosphere. It is up to the creator.
Quite often we see the absence of Ambient, configurable lighting in different Range Rover Sport configurations. One of our regular customers asked us to install this feature in his RR Sport L494 2018MY.
The basic interior lighting does not stand out in any way, it only illuminates the footwell and door handles. Color change is not available.
After receiving the order, we begin our work with the selection of the necessary parts for retrofitting.
Range Rover Sport’s Configurable Ambient Interior Lighting can be divided into several areas: driver and passengers footwell lighting, storage door map lighting, center console lighting with contour stripes and lower screen recess lighting.
The installation process starts with the analysis of the vehicle interior. Then we install new factory RGB LEDs and light-conducting strips in the door cards. The next we install RGB LED lamps in the footwell of the driver and passengers, then we move on to the center console. After installing additional LEDs, we move on to connecting new RGB LEDs to the vehicle wiring and programmatically add this feature to the infotainment system for functional checking and testing.
After checking the system operation and functionality, we proceed to the assembly of the interior.
As a result of software works, an additional menu for controlling the Configurable Ambient Interior Lighting appears. There are 10 different colors and four levels of backlight brightness to choose from.
Ambient lighting retrofit on Range Rover will create a unique atmosphere in the vehicle. With just a touch of the infotainment screen, you can change the color and intensity of the lights to suit your mood or driving style. At night, driving in a car becomes more comfortable and more enjoyable.

In addition, a standard Smartphone Pack was installed on this vehicle. It was not installed from the factory. The smartphone pack includes CarPlay and Android Auto, and allows you to bring a range of approved apps to the center screen of your InControl Touch Pro infotainment system. When you connect your phone via the USB socket in the armrest, you will get additional navigations with traffic (Google Maps, Waze, etc.), weather, music services, calendar, contacts and much more. All this can be controlled from the central monitor.
