3D Surround Camera System retrofit and 360 Parking Aid on Land Rover Discovery Sport 2023: How to Significantly Improve Safety and Parking Convenience

Recently, a customer came to our workshop with their new Land Rover Discovery Sport 2023MY. He decided to upgrade his vehicle by installing 3D surround camera system and a 360 parking system to ensure maximum safety and convenience on the roads. Unfortunately, the 3D 360 surround view cameras option is not available for factory order on Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque 2023MY. Retrofitting systems that do not come from the factory is quite a complex task.

We quickly prepared and ordered all the necessary parts to install these systems on the customer’s vehicle. Here is a brief overview of the process of installing 3D surround camera system and a 360 parking aid on a Land Rover Discovery Sport 2023:

Installation of the new 360 camera module and putting additional wiring for connecting cameras and additional 360 parking sensors.

Mounting the front 360 surround view camera in the front bumper grille.

Installation of 3D surround cameras in side mirrors, replacing mirror housings.

Installation of side parking sensors on the front and rear bumpers.

Connecting all components to the vehicle’s central system and configuring the software for the 3D surround view camera module and 360 parking system. As a result of the software works, the rear-view camera menu changes to the surround view camera menu in the PiVi Pro infotainment system.

After the installation was completed, the customer gained access to advanced features of 360 surround camera system and 360 parking aid system for their Land Rover Discovery Sport 2023. These systems significantly facilitate the parking process, as the driver can see a complete image around their vehicle on the touchscreen of the infotainment system PiVi Pro. In addition, the “Transparent Bonnet” feature was activated.

Furthermore, the 360 parking aid system includes an Gen2 automatic parallel and perpendicular parking function that allows the vehicle to independently determine the availability of parking spaces and calculate the trajectory of movement.
Thanks to the installation of 3D surround camera system and a 360 parking system, the customer received a significantly increased level of safety and convenience while driving their Land Rover Discovery Sport 2023. There is no doubt that such innovative technologies can be a huge advantage for any driver.

On this vehicle, at the customer’s request, we also installed wireless phone charging, activated Dynamic mode, and reprogrammed the Start/Stop system.
